Living By Faith

EXCEEDING JOY USHERS IN THE GLORY OF GOD

Yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. (1 Peter 1:8)

Believing is always accompanied by joy.
Mark Hankins

Rejoicing activates faith; joy accompanies believing. In 1 Peter 1:8, the Apostle Peter speaks of some wild, ecstatic, triumphant, heavenly joy, not someday when we get to heaven, but right now! The Amplified Bible says, “You believe in Him and exult and thrill with inexpressible and glorious (triumphant, heavenly) joy.”

Unspeakable joy is a container of the glory of God. The glory and the abundance of God are manifested in an atmosphere of rejoicing. We are commanded to rejoice; it is not an option! God brought us here to have fun — now we are going to have fun! God brought us here to have victory — now we are going to have victory!

Confession: I rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. I have victory! The glory and the abundance of God are manifesting in my life today!

ENJOYING THE TRIP

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24)

Jesus paid too high a price for our blessing for us to be cursed.
Mark Hankins

Several years ago, Trina and I took our children to Disney World in Florida. It was quite an expensive trip for our family. I thought it was funny when I saw a mother scolding and correcting her little boy who had been whining and complaining. The mother grabbed him firmly by the arm and said, “I brought you here to have a good time, and you’re going to have a good time!” She said, “I paid too much for this trip for you to be grouchy and complaining. It has taken too long to get here for you to ruin it with your whining!”

Now I can imagine our Father God having a similar problem with some of His children. I can hear Him saying, “I brought you here to have a good time — now you are going to have a good time!” The price of our freedom was the precious blood of Jesus. We are blessed in Christ. It is time to enjoy our victory in Christ! It is time to enjoy our redemption!

Confession: The joy of the Lord is my strength! I will rejoice in the Lord always! This is the day that the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it! (Nehemiah 8:10; Philippians 4:4; Psalm 118:24)

A HAPPY MAN IN CHRIST

I think myself happy, King Agrippa… (Acts 26:2)

You can think yourself happy or you can think yourself sad! Mark Hankins

The Apostle Paul could be shipwrecked, snake bit, beat in the head, left for dead, or confined in prison and still say, “I feel like singing right now because the Greater One is in me.” How would you like to be chained to Paul for about a year and a half? Paul was not some confused, lonely, bitter preacher. He stood before King Agrippa after thirty years and said, “Oh, king, I think myself happy.” (Acts 26:2)

King Agrippa, his sister Bernice, Governor Festus, all the military leaders, lawyers, and other prominent people were there when Paul came in. They wanted to mock him, but you cannot ridicule a happy man. He probably had the least reason to be happy of anybody in that whole crowd. But when he entered he said, “I am a happy man.”

The king said, “Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.”(Acts 2:28) King Agrippa may be the most upset man in hell because he had a testimony from the greatest preacher other than the Lord Jesus Christ, and yet he refused to become a Christian!

Confession: I think myself happy! I am righteous. I am a new creature. I am redeemed. I am blessed!

DOUBLE PAYDAY

Therefore in their land they shall possess double [what they had for feited]; everlasting joy shall be theirs. (Isaiah 61:7 AMP)

For your double trouble, God will give you a double measure of joy, wealth, and anointing. Mark Hankins

For years, Trina and I had been sowing seed and believing God for a plane for the ministry.  We had found a Cessna 421 and were making arrangements to purchase it. The next week at our annual leadership conference, we were blessed with over half of the money needed to purchase the plane.

The following weekend, we went to Dallas for my nephew’s wedding. When we checked into our hotel, a mistake had been made and instead of a room with a king- size bed, we were given two double beds. However, when we went into the room, we saw a Payday candy bar on each bed and decided to stay. Trina and I ate them and rejoiced saying, “It must be double payday!”  The following Sunday, someone came to our church and gave an offering that completely paid off the plane! Our double payday had come!

Confession: My double payday is coming! I am going to sow a double seed and do a double dance. Just like Job, God is going to give me twice as much as I had before!

THE TURNING POINT

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness. (Psalm 30:11)

Unspeakable joy is a container of the glory of God!
Mark Hankins

You are at a turning point. It may seem difficult, but things are turning around for you. God is turning your depression into a celebration. It is time to change clothes. It is time to dance and rejoice. God wants to dress you up in joy. Put on your shouting clothes!

God has appointed this deliverance for you. You have a destined date with the blessing of the Lord. What seemed to be burned and ruined, God is turning into something beautiful. He is anointing you with joy. The anointing breaks every yoke, lifts every burden, and makes us laugh at the enemy. Count it all joy. God has given you a garment of praise. There is great deliverance in the garment of praise. Put it on right now. Keep it on. Thank you, Jesus! He never fails to plan the best things for us.

Confession: To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. (Isaiah 61:3)
