STRENGTH FOR THE BATTLE

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. (John 16:7 AMP)

The function of the Holy Spirit is to fill a man with a spirit of power and courage which would make him able triumphantly to cope with life.” – William Barclay

The word Parakalein was used in classic Greek to describe the verb form of Parakletos. The Holy Spirit helps us to translate the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ into our personal victory. The Holy Spirit is not just consolation or sympathy in sorrow or distress; He does much more than that.

The Holy Spirit is our Advocate. He is the Counselor for the defense. He is called in to speak in support of His character in order to enlist the favor of the Judge. The Advocate will present someone else’s case in the most favorable light.

Confession: The Holy Spirit fills me with a spirit of power and courage. Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

THE MIND OF A GENIUS

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever. (John 14:16)

If you want to study the mind of a genius, be filled with the Holy Spirit. Mark Hankins

It is clear that the death, burial, resurrection, and the Word of God are very important. However, if that were all we needed, God would not have sent the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is very necessary and it is essential that we know about Him. Jesus and the Apostle Paul spent a great deal of time teaching believers about Him. Jesus was excited because He knew that the coming of the Holy Spirit would usher in a new day for believers.

We must recognize Him. We must respond and yield to Him. He is a Genius. He transmits the mind of Christ to us. We can think like God when we are filled with the Holy Spirit. He gives us uncommon intelligence, insight, and understanding.

Confession: I choose to recognize, respond, and yield to the Holy Spirit. I have uncommon intelligence, insight, and understanding as I yield to the work of the Holy Spirit in my life.

THE COMFORTER HAS COME

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart,  Iwill send him unto you. (John 16:7)

The Holy Spirit takes everything Jesus has done for you and makes it real to you. Mark Hankins

Before Jesus went to the cross and ascended to heaven, He spent a lot of time teaching about the Holy Ghost. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is described in John16:7-15 The Amplified Bible gives these words to describe the work of the Comforter: Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby

The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth and show you things to come. He will show, declare, and transmit the things of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to you. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would move in you and dwell in you. He will bring you into close fellowship with the Father and the Lord Jesus.

The Holy Spirit takes everything Jesus has done for you and makes it real to you.  He is the power and presence of the risen and triumphant Christ in you!

Confession: The Holy Spirit will guide me into all truth. He is the power and presence of the risen and triumphant Christ in me!

CRANK THE CHAINSAW

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you. (Acts 1:8)

The Holy Spirit is a genius. If you will listen to Him, He will make you look smart! B.B. Hankins

There is a funny story about a country boy who cut trees for a living. He heard of a new piece of equipment that was supposed to make work a lot easier and faster called a chainsaw. He bought one from the store because the man said he could cut up to 30 trees a day with this new chainsaw. After using it for a few days, he took it back to the store and complained that he was only able to cut 2 or 3 trees a day.  The store manager took the chainsaw from him and pulled the starter rope. With a loud noise, the chainsaw started. That country boy jumped back, startled by the noise, and said, “Whatsthat?” Being as ignorant as he was, he had never cranked the engine!

Many people struggle in the work of the Lord because they have never been filled with the Holy Spirit. He is the power that enables us in every area of life. We must give the Holy Spirit His proper place everyday.

Confession: Greater is He that is in me that het hat is in this world. (1 John 4:4) I choose to give the Holy Spirit His proper place everyday. Thank God for the Holy Spirit!

IN-CHRISTED

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)

You can never be more righteous than the day you confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord. Mark Hankins

The moment you get born again, you are in Christ. You have been “in Christ-ed.”  Whatever is in Him flows into you. You are literally put in union with Christ. How does that happen? Where does that happen? It happens through the miracle of the new birth of your spirit.

When you get born again, you have not been repaired or fixed somehow. God has not just changed you a little bit. You have not added going to church to your weekly schedule. In Christ, you are the workmanship or the handiwork of God, created in Christ. You cannot be defeated because God does not make failures.

Man’s condition in Adam before the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is found in Romans 3:10:“There is none righteous, no, not one.”  This no longer applies to you once you are born again. You are not in Adam anymore; you are in Christ. Romans3:24 says, “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

Confession: I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! (2 Corinthians 5:21)
