BE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)

If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, then you are filled with God. Mark Hankins

When Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit, He said that He is not just coming to visit, but He is going to move in and dwell in you permanently. That means the Holy Spirit is not just coming to visit, He is moving in. He is going to have a change of address. If you are just going to visit someone, you only bring some of your stuff. However, if you are moving in, you bring ALL of your stuff!

The Holy Spirit takes things that belong to the Father and Jesus, and transmits them to you. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit then you are filled with God. The Holy Spirit will expand you to make room for all He has for you.

When the Holy Spirit moves in, He is glad to be there. However, He needs room to bring all of His stuff. He can’t get His stuff in until you get some of your stuff out. We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit.

Confession: I am filled with the Holy Spirit; therefore, I am filled with God. I am making room for the Holy Spirit to move into my life and bring all of His stuff!

Amen. I love that we have to get rid of “stuff” to make room for the Holy Spirit and all wonderful things that He brings with Him in order to help us expand. What a wonderful thought. Thanks for sharing.
