Living By Faith

GOD’S GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM

For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries. (1 Corinthians 16:9)

“The devil is not trying to stop just you; he is after the eggs you are carrying.” -Mark Hankins

The salmon is known as a fish with a fighting spirit. They challenge the strong current, rapids, rocks, and even bears to reach their destination. God put a remarkable Global Positioning System in salmon that enables them to travel as far as 2,000 miles to locate the exact stream where they were born. They go up that particular stream, lay their eggs, and fertilize them. There are also bears in the streams trying to catch the salmon and end their journey. The bears are actually after the salmon for their eggs because they like to eat the eggs more than the fish.

The remarkable story of the salmon is similar to the life of faith and the fight of faith. God has an exact destiny for you. When we finish the course God has designed for us and lay the eggs He has given us; our lives are multiplied a million times and reach the next generation!

Confession: God can get me in the right place, at the right time, with the right people! I have a spirit of faith to overcome any adversity that comes against me!

GENETIC CONNECTION

Lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities…Behold your God! (Isaiah 40:9)

“When you speak, there is an identical voice of faith. It sounds like the voice of God.” – Mark Hankins

A number of years ago I called my brother’s church. The secretary mistook my voice for his voice because we’re brothers and there is a genetic similarity. She immediately said, “Pastor Mike”  When she said that, I thought I would take advantage of the situation and said, “You know, I really love my brother Mark a lot and would like to express my appreciation to him in a more tangible way. I want you to send my brother Mark a check for $10,000.”  The secretary got real quiet on the other end of the phone because she thought I was Mike. Then I said, “I’m just kidding, this is Mark.”

I realized my voice, because of the genetic connection, gave me access to his checking account. That’s why God says, “Lift up your voice and speak.” There is a genetic connection between you and Jesus Christ. There is authority, healing, deliverance, victory, and blessing in your voice.

Confession: I lift up my voice in faith and victory! Mountains have to move! I have authority, healing, deliverance, victory, and blessing in my voice!

THE LANGUAGE OF FAITH

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23)

“Many people would like to see different scenery in their lives. God says to make a different sound first.” – Mark Hankins

God wants us to learn the language of faith. Language includes understanding and speaking. God communicates to us through His Word. He wants us to see the same thing He sees and say the same thing He says. The spirit of wisdom and revelation and the spirit of faith work together for the will of God to be accomplished in us and through us.

In other words, it does not matter what the devil has done in your life. Through the cross of Jesus Christ, there is another language God wants to teach you — the language of redemption, restoration, and freedom. If you can dare to speak this new language, He will restore your dominion.

Confession:  Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law. I know I have eternal life. I am a child of God because of what Jesus has done. I have joy. I know the hope of His calling. I know I have an inheritance in Christ. Jesus has given me authority over the devil!

THE PERFECT LANGUAGE

Whosoever shall say…he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23)

“Effective communication must involve both seeing and saying.” -Mark Hankins

Human speech is a characteristic of man made in the image of God. We can see from Genesis 1 that God said and God saw. Sound came before sight in the order of this world’s creation. God said and God saw. Everything we can see was made from sound. Sound changes sight. Faith has a certain sound. As we speak the word of faith, things change in our lives.

In the beginning, a language existed that perfectly expressed the essence of all possible things. The language spoken in the Garden of Eden must have been such a language. Today, in the language of the Gospel, there is even greater power available. God has redeemed us by the blood of Jesus and has given us the language of redemption in Christ Jesus. God has restored all power to us “in Christ.” It is a language of authority that will move mountains as Jesus said in Mark 11:23. It is a language of healing that Paul spoke in Acts 14:7-10. It is a language of love that Paul described in 1Corinthians13.  It is the perfect language.

Confession: I am making a different sound–the sound of faith. The scenery of my life is changing because I walk by faith and not by sight.  (2 Corinthians 5:7)

ACCESS WITH CONFIDENCE

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of Him. (Ephesians3:12)

“To access all that God has done for us in Christ will take the spirit of wisdom and revelation.” – Mark Hankins

We can approach the Father God boldly because of what Jesus did for us in His death, burial, and resurrection. God has already done everything He is going to do for us in Christ. Our redemption is a finished, complete work.

We have been permanently released and delivered from the power of the devil by the blood of Jesus. We need this redemptive revelation so we can walk in the fullness of all that God has called us to in His kingdom.

Jesus Christ Himself gave the Apostle Paul this redemptive revelation.“For in either received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 1:12) This redemptive revelation is the key for believers. If we are to access the call of God, the inheritance that is ours in Christ, and the authority of the believer, we must have a redemptive revelation of God!

Confession: I can approach the Father God boldly because of what Jesus did for me in His death, burial, and resurrection. I can come fearlessly right into God’s presence, assured of His glad welcome! (Ephesians 3:12 | TLB)
