Living By Faith

WINNING THE WAR OF WORDS

In solemn truth I tell you that if anyone shall say to this mountain,“Remove, and hurl thyself into the sea,”and has no doubt about it in his heart, but steadfastly believes that what he says will happen, its hall be granted him. (Mark 11:23  Weymouth Translation)

Jesus won the war of words. Mark Hankins

Jesus defeated Satan in the wilderness by speaking the Word of God (Matthew 4).  Satan said…Jesus said… Satan said…Jesus said…Satan said…Jesus said. The Lord Jesus Christ won the war of words and put the devil on the run. Even Jesus had to “say” three times before the devil left. The power of speaking the Word of God was evident in this example from Jesus’ life and it is necessary for you to win the fight of faith.

Jesus tells us clearly how faith works in Mark 11:23. Faith is released by speaking.  If you are silent, you will lose by default. You must win the war of words in order to win in every conflict.

A war of words is going on every day of your life. How you fight that war will determine whether you win or lose; it will determine whether you live in the blessing or the curse. It could even determine whether you live or die. God has supplied the ammunition to win- His Word! It has the power to win in every area.  There is life, healing, joy, victory, and blessing in the Word of God!

Confession: I have a spirit of faith. I believe therefore I speak. (2 Corinthians 4:13) I will win the war of words and experience the blessing of God in my life!

UNFORGIVENESS CAN CAUSE DISEASE

Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled. (Hebrews 12:15 NKJV)

The cure for certain diseases is forgiveness! Mark Hankins

I believe that we will never find a cure for certain diseases because all diseases are not simply physical or biological. Some have their roots in a curse that comes from breaking a spiritual law.  That means the devil is the source of it all!

Guard against bitterness. Remember, unforgiveness is the greatest enemy to your faith so you must deal with it quickly.  When the devil tries to trick you into being unforgiving or bitter because of an injustice, all kinds of incurable diseases may result. You might not have done anything to be in the pit you are in, but you must forgive. Medicine will not be able to cure some diseases because the cure for them is spiritual. Sometimes you will have to deal with something in your heart before you can receive your healing. The cure for certain diseases is forgiveness!

Confession: I will obey the Word of God. It is life and health to my flesh. I will guard my heart, for out of it springs the issues of life! (Proverbs 4:22-23)

THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL

The law put a curse on us. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with you. Christ put himself under that curse. (Galatians 3:13 |Deaf)

The Gospel is the good news that man has been given eternal life through Jesus Christ. Mark Hankins

Jesus demonstrated the Gospel by healing the sick and setting the captives free in this world. Paul preached the Gospel, and the crippled man at Lystra received faith to be healed as he heard the message. (Acts 14:7) Paul said with a loud voice, “Stand up right on thy feet.” The man leaped and walked. The people thought Paul healed the man, but it was simply the demonstration of the power of the Gospel.

To see what the curse of the law is, you need to turn to Deuteronomy 28:15-68.  This list includes everything from sickness and poverty to disaster in the family and the nation. You can see the reverse of the curse by reading Deuteronomy 28:1-13. All these blessings shall come on you and overtake you. Christ hath redeemed you from the curse! Even now the curse is broken!

Confession: I am blessed in my family; I am blessed in my body, and I am blessed in my business because Christ has redeemed me from the curse of the law!

MAKING ADJUSTMENTS

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.(Philippians2:13)

When you are born again, you move out of the devil’s territory and you are relocated to a new place in Christ. Mark Hankins

Throughout the Bible, we see God moving men and women into the proper orbit to be used by Him. You can see this in the life of Abraham. Abraham had to do some moving. He had to make some adjustments so he could receive and transmit. God is constantly working with people to change their thinking, speaking, and acting, in order to open up the miraculous for them.

God wants to bless you. He wants to make you a blessing. He has some “rockets” to help you move into position to see His glory. He has given His Word, the Holy Spirit, and the five-fold ministry gifts to help you make adjustments. It takes some changes to get the glory, and it takes the glory to get some changes. You are being changed so you can fit and function in the proper orbit and realize your full potential in Christ.

Confession: It is God that is working in me both to will and to do of his good pleasure. He is changing my thinking, speaking, and acting. I am being changed so that I can realize my full potential in Christ!

SHAME-FREE LIVING

For the scripture saith, Whosever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Romans 10:11)

We must consistently see ourselves in the light of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Mark Hankins

Many people try to fix their behavioral problems with more and more doses of shame and guilt. Instead of curing the problem, shame perpetuates the problem. The Complete Life Encyclopedia makes this interesting statement about shame:

“Shame is the issue that drives almost every compulsive, self-defeating behavior known to the human race. Shame is at the root of alladdictions.

The cure is at the cross of Jesus Christ. On the cross, God was working in Christ, but He was working on us. Jesus took our condition and we were engrafted into Him. Now, God sees us through the blood, through the cross, and through the resurrection!

Confession: I reign in life through the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness through one man Jesus Christ! I am free from guilt, shame, sin, death, and the curse! (Romans 5:17)
