Living By Faith

STAY IN THE ANOINTING

And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son? (Luke 4:22)

You can never fulfill the destiny that God has for you if you stay in the natural, in your reasoning, and in your sense knowledge.
Mark Hankins

When Jesus stood and read Isaiah 61 in the temple, the people did not exactly have a great revival day in Nazareth. The people responded in the natural, and said, “This is Joseph’s son. He lives right down the street from us. He is saying that the Spirit of God is on Him and He is anointed.” Then they tried to throw Him off a nearby cliff!

Do you think everyone is going to be happy when you say, “I am a new creation in Christ; I am redeemed, blessed, and prosperous”? No, someone is going to say, “You think you are what? You live right down the street from me. You are not any different from anyone else.”

This world, the devil, your kinfolks, and your past will try to hold you in the natural. The anointing is in you, but the key is in your declaration, “That is who I am. I found it right there in the Word!” If somebody asks, “Who do you think you are?” you can say, “How much time do you have to listen?”

Confession: I am in the Anointed One. Jesus paid too high a price for me to stay bound. In Him I am redeemed!

YOUR NUMBER ONE BATTLE

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)

Satan knows that if he can capture your thought life, he has won a great victory.
Mark Hankins

I heard a story once about a man who asked a well- known evangelist to pray for him that he would never have another bad thought. The evangelist said, “If I could do that for you, I would do it for myself!”
You must realize that as long as you are in this world, Satan has access to you, and he can bring thoughts and suggestions to your mind. This does not mean you are not saved. As a matter of fact, Satan knows if he can capture your thought life, he has won a great victory.
The devil will tell you that if you thought something, you ought to say it or do it. However, you decide what you will do with those thoughts. I like the way Dad Hagin said it: “Just because Satan brings thoughts to your mind doesn’t mean they are sin. Thoughts may come and thoughts may persist, but thoughts that are not acted upon die unborn.”

Confession: I cast down every imagination and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God. I am bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ!

SO BE IT

Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. (2 Corinthians 1:20 Message)

You can go to church and walk out in the same condition you came in, even though you said, “Amen! Glory! Hallelujah!” in all the right places.
Mark Hankins

Do you know what “Amen” means? It means, “So be it.” If you are in church and say, “Amen,” you are saying, “So be it.” You ought to consider what you “Amen.” Some people just say “Amen” at timed intervals. They are not even paying attention. One man was preaching and said, “You know, millions of people are going to hell every day.” Then he said, “Amen.” That means, “So be it. Let them go to hell, man. I don’t care.” You need to be careful when you say “Amen.”

Paul is saying, “Amen, so be it.” Jesus is the Amen. Jesus, through His death, burial, and resurrection came and said, “So be it” to everything God has ever promised. He fulfilled it and brought the reality of it into the economy of God. It is no longer just a promise or just some theology; it is an absolute reality.

Confession: What God has promised is affirmative-no question about it!

THE EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER

And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. (Ephesians 1:19NKJV)

The power that raised Christ from the dead made Him supremely triumphant over hell and all its hosts! -Mark Hankins

The resurrection of Christ was evidently the greatest display of omnipotence ever set forth, surpassing even that of creation. Paul prayed that we would get a revelation of the power that was released in the resurrection of Christ.

When God raised the body of Jesus, the material substance of His body changed so dramatically that from that time on that Jesus had no difficulty walking through solid walls. Somehow the very structure of the atoms of his body was altered.  This took tremendous power — even more power than God used to create matter in the beginning.

This is what Paul had in mind in his prayer for the Church. Not just the power that was loosed in His body in His triumph over physical death, but also the power that was unleashed spiritually in His triumph over hell and all its forces! That is the power that is at work in us now!

Confession: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.  (Ephesians 3:20)

FREE FROM ALL FEAR

I sought the Lord, and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.(Psalm 34:4)

When faith cometh, fear goeth!  Mark Hankins

You can be free from all of your fears. Do not cast away your confidence! Faith in God is faith in His Word. Believe God, believe the Word, and speak with the voice of faith. Your faith is voice-activated.

Sometimes you have to get radical when dealing with fear, doubt, and anxiety. Fear is a spirit, and it will come against your mind. You must deal with it by saying, “You foul spirit of fear, I resist you in the name of Jesus. I refuse to doubt. I fear not; I only believe. I made that choice. Now get out!”

When the supernatural comes in contact with the natural, something has to give!  When the power of God is in manifestation, it will hit you on the top of your head, go down your back, and get in your legs. You will say, “It’s all over me, and it’s keeping me alive. I shall not die, but I shall live and declare the works of God.”

Confession: For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (Hebrews 2:14-15)
