Living By Faith

THE COMFORTER HAS COME

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart,
I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

The Holy Spirit takes everything Jesus has done for you
and makes it real to you.
Mark Hankins

Before Jesus went to the cross and ascended to heaven, He spent a lot of time teaching about the Holy Ghost. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is described in John 16:7-15 The Amplified Bible gives these words to describe the work of the Comforter: Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby.

The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth and show you things to come. He will show, declare, and transmit the things of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ to you. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would move in you and dwell in you. He will bring you into close fellowship with the Father and the Lord Jesus.

The Holy Spirit takes everything Jesus has done for you and makes it real to you. He is the power and presence of the risen and triumphant Christ in you!

Confession: The Holy Spirit will guide me into all truth. He is the power and presence of the risen and triumphant Christ in me!

CRANK THE CHAINSAW

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you.
(Acts 1:8)

The Holy Spirit is a genius. If you will listen to Him,
He will make you look smart!
B.B. Hankins

There is a funny story about a country boy who cut trees for a living. He heard of a new piece of equipment that was supposed to make work a lot easier and faster called a chainsaw. He bought one from the store because the man said he could cut up to 30 trees a day with this new chainsaw. After using it for a few days, he took it back to the store and complained that he was only able to cut 2 or 3 trees a day. The store manager took the chainsaw from him and pulled the starter rope. With a loud noise, the chainsaw started. That country boy jumped back, startled by the noise, and said, “What’s that?” Being as ignorant as he was, he had never cranked the engine!

Many people struggle in the work of the Lord because they have never been filled with the Holy Spirit. He is the power that enables us in every area of life. We must give the Holy Spirit His proper place everyday.

Confession: Greater is He that is in me that he that is in this world. (1 John 4:4) I choose to give the Holy Spirit His proper place everyday. Thank God for the Holy Spirit!

BLESSED IN CHRIST

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)

Every blessing that heaven itself enjoys is ours right now.
Mark Hankins

We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. We are seated in heavenly places. We are blessed with the same blessings Jesus has right now in the presence of God. We have the blessing of the Lord upon our lives.

Everywhere you go, the triumph and the smell of victory on you is greater than whatever is around you. The triumph of Christ in you and the smell of that triumph comes out of you and has an effect on the atmosphere wherever you go.

We do not have to wait until we get to heaven in order to enjoy the blessings that heaven itself enjoys. We are already blessed with the same life, righteousness, joy, peace, and love. We can climb up in that rock of who we are in Christ and get up there in the glory of heaven!

Confession: Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. (2 Corinthians 2:14)

THE LAW OF SAMENESS

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:11)

No other religion can say what the Christian can; that is, that our God lives in us. – T. L. Osborn

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. The identical life that raised Christ from the dead is inside the believer. We share the same righteousness and the same victory that is in Christ. If we see what God sees, we would see that we have the same Spirit that raised Christ. We have the same anointing that was and is on Him. He is the Anointed One, and we are in Him.

God did not give us an inferior product. He gave us the very life of Christ Himself; it is identical! Satan does not want the Church to understand or walk in the reality of our redemption in Christ.

Once you climb up in Him, then God will change your name and tell you who you are. Your friends and family will not tell you who you are. God says, “I will tell you who you are!”

Confession: I was identified with Christ in His death and resurrection. Right now, I have the same spirit, the same righteousness, the same victory, and the same blessing!

START DRILLING

The life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

When you drill into the phrase, “in Christ,” it swallows up your past, your failures, and your old identity.
Mark Hankins

There is a story about a strange happening in South Louisiana at Lake Peigneur. Texaco was drilling for oil in the Lake and the drill got stuck at 1250 feet. It began to list badly so they abandoned it. From the shore, they watched it sink from sight. Meanwhile, men working in a salt mine under the lake noticed it was beginning to flood, so they also escaped. On the surface, a whirlpool threatened some fishermen, eventually pulling in some barges and a tug associated with the drilling. The whirlpool grew in size until it pulled in 65 acres of land. An oil rig, a salt mine, an entire lake, and 65 acres of land disappeared!

What God did for you through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ will swallow up who you used to be. Get the drill out and start drilling. Drill in Galatians 2:20, Romans 6:6, Ephesians 2:4-5, and Galatians 6:14. Drill until you hit something in the realm of the Spirit that will swallow up your past!

Confession: My old man was crucified with Christ. I am no longer a slave to sin! (Romans 6:6)
