WINNING THE WAR

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts and be renewed in the spirit of your mind and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

When you get in Christ you are introduced to a whole new realm — the realm of God! Mark Hankins

Paul said to put off the former lifestyle, your old conversation, and your old way of living and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind. Evidently this change doesn’t happen instantly when you are saved, because he was talking to Spirit-filled Christians. There is a battle between your born-again spirit and your unrenewed mind.

How are you going to win this war? You are going to have to have your weapons ready.  What are your weapons? They are the blood, the Word, and the name of Jesus. You also have another help, the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which destroys every yoke of bondage. You might think that all you need is a vacation when what you really need is the blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit breaking that yoke off of your soul and your mind!

Confession: I put off my former lifestyle and renew my mind to the Word of God. The blood of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit destroy every yoke of bondage in my life!

WEAPONS OF OUR WARFARE

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. ( 2 Corinthians 10:4)

In man there is a spirit, the part of man that is the receiver for spiritual things. Mark Hankins

Where are strongholds located? Paul said they are in your mind. He said to bring every thought into captivity.  That means you must get control of your mind and your body. You must do that daily through the weapons of your warfare.

What are the weapons of your warfare? Get the Word of God and begin feeding on it. Your spirit is hungry for God. Your flesh may be hungry for chicken fried steak or apple pie, but your spirit is hungry for God. The Word is full of supernatural life and power.

Start speaking, “Satan, the blood of Jesus is against you.”  Start talking about the name of Jesus. Start praying in the Holy Spirit. The devil cannot tell what you are saying when you pray in other tongues. Your spirit (the part of you that is born again) gets edified and rises up in response to faith-filled words.

Confession: My spirit is born again. Satan the blood of Jesus is against you. My old man, the old person I used to be, was crucified with Christ and I do not serve sin. I am dead to sin and alive unto God!

THE FINISHED WORK OF REDEMPTION

Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit. (Zechariah 4:6)

If you are fighting everything in the natural, you are going to lose! Mark Hankins

You give the devil the most trouble when you sit down! Take your place first of all in Christ, in the finished work of redemption, and sit down. If you are fighting everything in the natural, you are going to lose. So take your place in the Spirit in Christ and sit down.

Christ is the head, and you are in His body. You have the same righteousness, the same life, the same victory, and the same authority Christ has. Satan is far below you, and you are far above him. You had better get your binoculars out to see him because he is so far below you!

You can deal with life from a different perspective now. You can deal with your problems from a position of triumph and victory, not from a place of trying to get the victory. You are not helpless, hopeless, or trying to make something work. You should picture yourself as a believer seated at the right hand of God.

Confession: I am taking my place. I am going to sit down right now, and I am going to rest in what Jesus has already done. I do not need to fight in this battle. God fights in the battle and gives me the victory!

SEATED WITH CHRIST

He gave us life together with Christ. And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.  (Ephesians 2:5-6 Phillips)

Before you can stand against the wiles of the devil and walk the Christian walk, you must learn how to sit.  Mark Hankins

A few years ago, Watchman Nee wrote a little book called Sit,Walk, and Stand. It is a short but powerful book about the book of Ephesians. There is a very simple progression here: sit, walk, and stand. People want to stand against the devil as described in Ephesians6. They want to learn how to walk the Christian walk as outlined in Ephesians 4, but they have never learned how to sit as described in Ephesians 2.

You must take your place in the finished work of Christ. By “finished,” I mean Jesus has already done everything He is going to do about the devil, your righteousness, and your victory in life. He has already (past tense) taken care of it. Jesus has defeated the devil, spoiled him, stripped him, disarmed him, established your righteousness, given you victory, and sat down. God has already taken care of your victory in life. You do not have to do it. All you have to do is sit down!

Confession:God has already taken care of the devil, my righteousness, and my victory in life! I am sitting down!

NO EVIDENCE OF THE ENEMY

But with an over running flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies. What do ye imagine against the Lord? He will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time. (Nahum 1:8-9)

God will destroy the place the enemy got into your life so that he can never get in again; He will also destroy the evidence. Mark Hankins

Can you believe God can bring some things to an end? God can bring behaviors and influences that have controlled your life to an end.

Sin shall not have dominion over you. God said that He would stop this affliction.  He will stop the problem or condition, and it will never rise again. God will destroy the place the enemy got into your life so that he can never get in again. God will even destroy the evidence.

This is true in any area of your life: poverty, defeat, or sickness. In areas of your life where behavior, influences, or circumstances have controlled you, God will bring it to an end. There is no inferiority, shame, or poverty on you in Christ. There is no evidence on you of what you used to be!

Confession: I believe that God can put an end to the affliction. in my life! He will destroy the evidence of what I used to be!
