Living By Faith

GET YOUR WEAPONS OUT

Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

The moment you are born again, I am convinced that the devil puts a target on you.
Mark Hankins

You have to get the blood of Jesus, the name of Jesus, and the Word out and use them. You have to get the Word in your mouth, get it engrafted inside of you, and put on the armor of God. Put on your helmet of salvation, breastplate of righteousness, belt of truth, Gospel shoes, and shield of faith to stop every fiery dart. Then get the sword of the Word of God out and say, “Alright, devil, I am ready for you now!”

Jesus told Peter, “Satan has desired to have you…but I have prayed for you.” (Luke 22:31-32) This is not meant to scare you, but make you aware.

Jesus is praying for you! You have the power of the blood. You have the cross. You have the resurrection. You have the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Greater One lives on the inside of you!

Confession: I put on the armor of God and withstand the devil. I have the power of the blood of Jesus and the anointing of the Holy Spirit working in my life! The Greater One lives inside of me!

LIVE BY FAITH

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

You are justified by faith in what Christ has done, not in how you feel.
Mark Hankins

What does it mean to have been cleansed from all unrighteousness? It means you have been made righteous again. It has nothing to do with what you feel. You may say, “I still do not feel righteous.” It has nothing to do with your feelings. You are justified by faith in what Christ has done, not by how you feel. Do you feel saved when you get up in the morning? Most people don’t get up and say, “I feel saved.” Most people don’t get up and say, “I feel righteous today. I really feel redeemed. I feel victorious.” It has nothing to do with feelings.

Romans 1:17 tells us, “The just shall live by faith.” Righteousness is a part of your faith walk when you acknowledge everything that is in you in Christ. Get up in the morning and say, “I have been made righteous today.” When the devil comes against your mind, he brings a picture of failure or weakness. Will the devil bring you a picture? Yes, but you tell him, “That is all right devil. I know you have a picture, but that does not exist anymore.”

Confession: I have been made righteous by the blood of Jesus. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I have been forgiven, and I am redeemed by faith.

MADE READY IN CHRIST

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light. (Colossians 1:12)

You will never be more ready for your inheritance than the moment you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
Mark Hankins

The word “meet” in the King James Version just simply means that God has qualified us, enabled us, made us worthy, or made us ready. In other words, you do not have to sing in the choir for 38 years to be ready. The moment you are washed in the blood of Jesus — the moment you climb in Christ by faith and receive Him as your Lord and Savior — you are qualified for your inheritance. Colossians 1:12 says, “Giving thanks unto the Father….” Sometimes you need to say, “O, Father, I give You thanks that You have qualified me. You have enabled me and made me worthy.”

There is a time when we bow down before God in reverence and worship, but that is not being unworthy. When we come into the presence of God by the blood of Jesus and bow down, there are times when God will say, “Stand up with boldness and declare that you are who I say you are.” It gives Him honor when you believe Him.

Confession: I have been made worthy through the blood of Jesus Christ. With boldness I recognize that I am qualified for my inheritance!

SEISMIC RETROFIT

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man. (Ephesians 3:16)

The Holy Spirit never brings condemnation. He always reveals the blood of Christ. He is the lifting power of the church. Smith Wigglesworth

Years ago, I was driving through San Diego and noticed that some of the buildings had cables running from each of their corners to the ground. I had never seen that on a building before, so I wanted to know what it was. I found out that it was called seismic retrofit. Engineers strategically strengthened these buildings so that when an earthquake hits, they will not collapse. These buildings are strengthened from corner to corner, inside and outside, so after the shaking of an earthquake, they will still stand.

I believe the Holy Ghost can give you some seismic retrofit. You may not have certain strengths in your life, but the Holy Ghost will add things to you. He will strengthen you in your inner man.  When the storm is over and the dust clears, you will still be standing.

Confession: God is granting me, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in my inner man(Ephesians 3:16)

THE CENTER OF THE GOSPEL

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood, he entered once into the Holy Place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9:12)

The Gospel contains the power that God released in Christ two thousand years ago. Mark Hankins

The center of the Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. After His resurrection, Jesus told the disciples, “Go into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ are eternal God events. We give them a date and place because they are historical events, but they are more than just history. They are supernatural, eternal God events, and they can be visited at any point in time as though they were happening right then. The same power that God released in these events is in the message.

The Gospel produces faith. The Word of God is a living thing. Christ hath redeemed you! The Gospel is not the good news that God can help you. It is not the good news that God wantsto help you. It is the good news that God has already helped you in Christ.

Confession: The price has been paid. I am no longer a prisoner to sin; I am free. The curse of sin and Satan has been broken in my life by the blood of Jesus!
