Living By Faith

ONCE UPON A TIME

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in ONCE into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
(Hebrews 9:12)

The story of the blood of Jesus is an established fact throughout history.
Mark Hankins

Everyone likes a great story that begins with the phrase, “Once upon a time….” The story of Jesus is the greatest story ever told. It is not a fantasy, but a true story that has changed the world for thousands of years. The story of Jesus is told in over a thousand languages to millions of people, young and old, around the world, and it is still changing lives today!

One day as I was studying Hebrews 9 and 10, the word “ONCE” stood out so clearly. I began to see God’s plan of redemption in Christ and how the wisdom and power of God very effectively “ONCE” paid the price for our freedom. ONCE! That’s all it took! Jesus shed His blood ONCE! He defeated and dethroned Satan, ONCE FOR ALL TIME…ONCE for all mankind…ONCE for the cure of every condition…ONCE for every blessing in Heaven to be ours!

Confession: Jesus went ONCE for all into the Holy of Holies! Jesus shed His blood ONCE for the price of my freedom.

REDEMPTION: A COMPLETE WORK

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin…For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
(Romans 6:6,14)

The blood of Jesus made us a new creation in Christ.
Mark Hankins

Our lives change when we receive the spirit of wisdom and revelation! Where we once experienced defeat, we now experience victory!

Romans 6:6 in the Richert Translation says, “…our former evil identities have been executed, so to speak. Our old rebel selves were exterminated and that leaves us no further role to perform as offenders. We were linked with the Divine Representative in death.”

We will overcome any barriers in our lives by the redemptive revelation of who we are in Christ. Romans 6:14 in the Knox Translation says, “Sin will not be able to play the master over you any longer.” The Wood Translation says, “Sin shall not be tyrant over you.” We can have a revolutionary revelation and walk in the light of what God has done for us in Christ. The tyrannical masters that once ruled our lives will rule no more!

Confession: Sin does not have dominion over me. I am walking in the light of what God has done for me in Christ Jesus!

A NEW DAY OF BOLDNESS

Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. (Hebrews 10:19)

Jesus purchased our “freedom of speech” with His own blood.
Mark Hankins

Some translations of Hebrews 10:19 translate the word “boldness” as “freedom of speech or outspoken.” Jesus purchased our freedom of speech with His own blood. As a believer, we must be bold or outspoken. The devil does not care what you believe if you are quiet about it. Speak out what God’s Word says about the blood of Jesus. Speak out who you are and what you have in Christ.

Once upon a time Jesus purchased our freedom with His own blood, once for all time and eternity! Jesus paid the price once for every situation, once for all men! Boldly speak out, “Once upon a time!”

The blood of Jesus has given us great boldness and confidence. When we understand who we are and what we have in Christ, we usher in a new day of boldness in our lives! Remember these two words: once and bold. Instead of being a victim of our experiences, our experiences are a victim of us!

Confession: I have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE FOR ALL! I can therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace and obtain mercy, and find grace to help me in my time of need. (Hebrews 10:10; 4:16)

WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. (Galatians 3:13)

Boldly confess your redemption in Christ and who you are in Him. Mark Hankins

One of the biggest enemies to faith is a lack of understanding our redemption in Christ. Once you know the truth about redemption you will enjoy the freedom Jesus purchased for you. You must boldly confess your complete redemption in Christ.
A simple definition of redemption is freedom through the payment of a price. God paid the price for you in Christ two thousand years ago. As the old Gospel song reminds us, “Jesus paid it all.” He paid the price for your freedom, deliverance, healing, prosperity, and wholeness! Jesus paid too high a price for you to remain bound! He paid too high a price for your healing for you to stay sick. He paid too high a price for your prosperity for you to remain poor. Jesus purchased your freedom with His own blood! (Hebrews 9:12) Receive all that has been purchased on your behalf!

Confession: I boldly confess my redemption in Christ and who I am in Him. Jesus purchased my freedom from sin, sickness, and lack with His own blood! “Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” (Hebrews 9:12)

A NEW DAY OF BOLDNESS

Having therefore, brethren, BOLDNESS to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus. (Hebrews 10:19)

The blood of Jesus has given us great boldness and confidence.
Mark Hankins

Another word that stood out to me in Hebrews was the word, “boldness.” The blood of Jesus has given us great boldness and confidence. “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace.” (Hebrews 4:16) “That we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper.” (Hebrews 13:6)

Some other translations of Hebrews 10:19 translate boldness as “freedom of speech” or “outspoken.” The blood of Jesus has given us great boldness and confidence. As believers, we need to exercise our “freedom of speech” and be outspoken about the blood of Jesus and who we are in Christ. Instead of being a victim of our experiences, our experiences are a victim of us.

Now we as believers can take the Word of God and speak with great boldness and confidence! When Satan comes against you, just bring up the story of the blood of Jesus.

Confession: The Lord is my Helper. I can come boldly unto the throne of grace. I am sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. (Hebrews 10:10, 14)
