Living By Faith

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

“Righteousness simply means that you have right standing with God.” – Mark Hankins

God made Jesus, who knew no sin, to be made sin for us. He took our sin and our curse and died our death. Jesus was made to be sin for us so we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

“And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” (Romans 8:10) Paul said that your spirit is alive because of righteousness. When you received Christ, your spirit received eternal life because you were made righteous. You had the very righteousness of God imparted to your spirit.

Putting off the old man and putting on the new man happens by getting your mind renewed with the Word of God. This new man is created in righteousness and through holiness. When you get born again, you are not just a forgiven sinner. You have been made the righteousness of God in Christ!

Confession: I am a new creation in Christ. The old way of thinking and acting is dead and gone. I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ!

SHAME-FREE LIVING

For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. (Romans 10:11)

“Since we are free from the motivating power of shame, we are now under a new motivating power of righteousness.” – Mark Hankins

It is especially interesting that professional psychiatrists recognize the power and influence of shame in shaping people today. It drives human behavior. Many have misdiagnosed their own problems and conditions. This has caused many to try to fix their behavior with more and more doses of shame and guilt.  Instead of curing the problem, shame perpetuates the problem.

The cure is at the cross of Jesus Christ. Jesus took our condition and we were engrafted into Him.  Now, God sees us In Christ.  We must consistently see ourselves in the light of the death, burial, and resurrection. We reign in life through the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness through one man, Jesus Christ.

Confession: I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I reign in life through one man, Jesus Christ. “For if by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, JesusChrist.” (Romans 5:17)

DARE TO DECLARE THAT YOU ARE RIGHTEOUS IN CHRIST

Who shall lay anything to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Romans 8:33-34)

“Faith will not work in an atmosphere of unforgiveness.” -Kenneth E. Hagin

I once heard Dad Hagin say,“If the devil can get you in condemnation, he’ll cheat you out of your inheritance.”  When we receive forgiveness and freely forgive others, and ourselves, our faith will work properly. God forgives us so radically and totally, that He commands us to forgive others the same way.  God’s kind of forgiveness erases the memory of all sin, failure, guilt, and accusation. We plead our case with the Word of God and the blood of Jesus.

In 2 Corinthians 5:21, God declares us righteous in Christ. Righteousness is a free gift and those that receive it will reign in life through Christ Jesus. This revelation of righteousness makes us glad. These are days of Heaven on Earth, so go ahead and laugh at the devil.

Confession: I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I receive this free gift and reign in life through Christ Jesus! (2 Corinthians 5:21; Romans 5:17)

EXPERIENCING THE GLORY FOR YOURSELF

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy GLORY, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. (Psalm 63:1-2)

“God wants to do something in you that will shock a generation!” -Mark Hankins

When Paul stood before King Agrippa he explained his experience with glory of the risen Christ. He said, “I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun…”(Acts 26:13)

I remember when I was 17 years old, I cried out and said, “God, show me your glory. I can’t live off my parents’ experience, sermon, or vision.”I wanted to experience the glory of God for myself.

God wants you to experience more glory this year than you did last year. Paul said every believer should not only have an initial experience with the glory, but should go from glory to glory.

Confession:  But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.  (2 Corinthians 3:18)

GLORY…GET LOADED

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. (Habakkuk 2:14)

“Our prayers, faith, and giving tap into God’s treasury…GLORY!” -Mark Hankins

The Old Testament word for glory is kabod. It simply means heavy. The best way to see it is heavy or loaded with the goodness of God. In 2Chronicles5&7, as the people praised God saying, “The Lord is good and his mercy endureth forever,” the glory filled the temple. Heavyfilled the house and the priests could not stand up. The manifested presence of God filled the temple. That is why today we can be so filled with the glory of God that we get loaded with God’s goodness; we get saturated with the life of God.

The New Testament word for glory is doxa. It is the light of the Gospel that shines and dispels all darkness and all the works of the devil!

Our prayers, faith, and giving tap into God’s treasury…GLORY! My God shall supply all of your need according to His riches in GLORY by Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

Confession: The glory of God loads me with His goodness and is the light of the Gospel that shines and dispels all darkness and all the works of the devil in my life!
