RIGHTEOUSNESS CONSCIOUSNESS

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us. (Titus 3:5)

Your spirit is recreated in righteousness; it is a gift!
Mark Hankins

You can be born again and still have a sin-consciousness, constantly having guilt-consciousness. You can constantly be thinking about the past, your failures, and your weaknesses. You can develop a righteousness-consciousness.

When you start acknowledging every good thing that is in you in Christ, however, you develop a consciousness that you have been made righteous. You have been redeemed. You are a new creation. You are triumphant in Christ. Start speaking that; your spirit man will rise up, and you will bring your body under subjection.

Righteousness is a gift that has been imparted to your spirit. Your spirit is re-created in righteousness; it is a gift. You are pleasing to God. You are accepted before God just as if you had never sinned. You are justified or righteous just as if you had never sinned.

Confession: It is not by works of righteousness that I have done, but according to His mercy that has saved me! (Titus 3:5)

THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST

For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Righteousness simply means that you have right standing with God.
Mark Hankins

God made Jesus, who knew no sin, to be made sin for us. He took our sin and our curse and died our death. Jesus was made to be sin for us so we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

“And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.” (Romans 8:10) Paul said that your spirit is alive because of righteousness. When you received Christ, your spirit received eternal life because you were made righteous. You had the very righteousness of God imparted to your spirit.

Putting off the old man and putting on the new man happens by getting your mind renewed with the Word of God. This new man is created in righteousness and through holiness. When you get born again, you are not just a forgiven sinner. You have been made the righteousness of God in Christ!

Confession: I am a new creation in Christ. The old way of thinking and acting is dead and gone. I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ!

YOUR SPIRIT TAKES OVER

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:17)

When you get born again, your spirit is joined to Christ.
Mark Hankins

When you pray in the Spirit, or you get where the Spirit of God is moving, you want to jump, run, laugh, and do all kinds of things because your spirit is joined to the triumph of Christ. Sometimes your head cannot figure out why you are jumping and running, but you get so full of the Holy Spirit that you see who you are in Christ.

The actual experience begins to work out from your spirit, and you start laughing. You are blessing Him. You are redeemed in Him. You are righteous in Him. You are forgiven in Him. You are triumphant in Him. You are strong in Him. You are prosperous in Him.

Your spirit rises up and begins to take ascendancy over your mind, your reasoning, and your flesh. Your spirit starts acting like who you really are. This is what happens in a Holy Spirit meeting. The Holy Spirit begins to infuse strength into your spirit, which is your inner man. The Holy Spirit brings out the reality of redemption.

Confession: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

IN-CHRISTED

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.  (Ephesians 2:10)

You can never be more righteous than the day you confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord. Mark Hankins

The moment you get born again, you are in Christ. You have been “in Christ-ed.”  Whatever is in Him flows into you. You are literally put in union with Christ. How does that happen? Where does that happen? It happens through the miracle of the new birth of your spirit.

When you get born again, you have not been repaired or fixed somehow. God has not just changed you a little bit. You have not added going to church to your weekly schedule. In Christ, you are the workmanship or the handiwork of God, created in Christ. You cannot be defeated because God does not make failures.

Man’s condition in Adam before the death, burial and resurrection of Christ is found in Romans 3:10: “There is none righteous, no, not one.”  This no longer applies to you once you are born again. You are not in Adam anymore; you are in Christ. Romans 3:24 says, “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

Confession: I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! (2 Corinthians 5:21)

RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

Being righteous means you are accepted by God, have right standing with God, and are pleasing to Him. Mark Hankins

In most churches you wouldn’t have any trouble telling people, “Jesus died on the cross for you.” But they doubt the second half of that verse: “That we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”  Being righteous means that you are accepted by God, have right standing with God, and are pleasing to Him. This gives you confidence in prayer and in facing the adversary, the accuser of the brethren.

The Bible says you are an heir of God and a joint-heir with Jesus Christ. When you are born again, a spiritual deposit is made in you. We have talked about some of this deposit: wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption.  The Apostle Paul begins all his letters by stating what God has done for you in Christ. After he declares what God has done for you in Christ, he declares who you are in Christ and what to do about it!

Confession: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.(Romans 8:1)
