Living By Faith

REDEMPTION: AN EVERLASTING RELEASE

Who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. (1 Timothy 2:6)

Christianity does not begin with something you do, but with something that has been done for you in Christ. Mark Hankins

Faith begins by knowing redemption facts. God paid the price for you in Christ two thousand years ago. Everything Jesus did in His death and resurrection was done for you, or as some translations say, “in your behalf.”  You could say Jesus gets the glory for everything that has been done, but you get the credit because He was acting in your behalf.

Satan’s dominion over mankind has been permanently broken because of what Christ has done. Redemption is not a temporary thing that must be added to by man or replaced later by something more effective. The Amplified Bible calls it, “A complete redemption, and a never lasting release.” (Hebrews 9:12) An everlasting release means it lasts forever. God has left nothing out.

Confession: All that I need is supplied in Christ. My past, present, and future have been taken care of. My spirit, soul, and body have been taken care of — all because of what Jesus has done for me!

UNDERSTANDING REDEMPTION

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.  (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus are the center of the Gospel! Mark Hankins

The simple definition of redemption is, “Freedom through the payment of a price.” Webster’s Dictionary defines the word redeem as: “To buy back; tore-purchase; to get back; to recover; to ransom; to pay off (a mortgage or note); to liberate from captivity; to deliver; to reclaim.”

In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul says,  “First of all I delivered unto you.”  The Revised Standard Version translates this, “as of first importance.”  The matter of first importance is what God did for us in Christ Jesus in the great plan of redemption.

Redemption is an accomplished fact in Christ. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) The truth will not help you if you do no not know it. You must see what God has done for you. In John 16:13, Jesus called the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Truth. God wants you to be free.  He has given you His Holy Spirit to show you the things of Christ.

Confession: In Christ Jesus, I am redeemed. I have been liberated from the captivity of sin. I am delivered!

YOUR PLACE BY THE FATHER

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: myGod; in him willI trust. (Psalm 91:1-2)

Through the power of the death, burial, and resurrection, God put us in Christ. Mark Hankins

The only limit to the goodness of God is our capacity to receive. God told Moses, “I will show you my glory; there is a place by me.”  When believers take their place in Christ they are properly positioned to see the glory of God.

Psalm 91 is a great insurance policy! The company will never go broke. We are to live in that secret place.

Find your place by the Father. Live in that place. Don’t let Hollywood tell you who you are, where your place is, and how to dress, look, or act. Don’t let people shape you.

Get in the presence of God and let Him shape you. God will put you in the rock!  We now know that rock is Jesus Christ. That is the hiding place, the viewing place, and the glory place. Through the power of the death, burial, and resurrection, God put us in Christ — in the rock!

Confession:There is a place by the Father God for me! By faith in the precious blood of Jesus, I am taking my place by the Father and receiving His goodness!

THE STORY OF THE BLOOD

So Christ was ONCE offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28)

As believers, we can take the Word of God and tell the devil a bedtime story! Mark Hankins

Whenever you face any challenge, remember this story and tell it again: “Once Upon a Time!” As believers, we can take the Word of God and tell the devil a bedtime story. Say, “Devil, ONCE upon a time Jesus defeated you for all eternity.” Speak the Word of God with boldness and rock the devil to sleep!

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE for all… For by ONE offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified.” (Hebrews 10:10,14)By looking at these scriptures we see that Jesus cancelled and abolished sin ONCE for all time and for all men. The Holy Spirit continues to emphasize the word “ONCE.”  We must know this story well. It is the story of Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, Heaven, and Earth. This story is well known by angels and demons. The story of the blood of Jesus is an established fact throughout eternity!

Confession: I am sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ! By one offering he hath perfected forever them that are sanctified. (Hebrews 10:10,14)

ACT LIKE THE BIBLE IS TRUE

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.(Ephesians 4:23-24)

The power of the blood of Jesus washes away all of the guilty stains and we can stand in God’s presence confidently. Mark Hankins

You can know that the Bible says these things about you, but they may not seem real to you. You have a part to play. You did not make the new man; God did that. You must put on the new man. One translation says, “put on the new person that you are.” This new man is created in righteousness and true holiness. God would not make an unrighteous new creature. You have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

God sees you through the blood of Jesus. He looks at you as though you never did anything wrong.  We can face life confidently. We can pray confidently. In Christ we have right standing with God. It is not only right standing with God; it is the identical standing with the Father that Jesus has. Dare to see yourself this way!

Confession: In Christ I am delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of the Son of God. In Christ I have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.
