Living By Faith

WILLING TO RECEIVE

And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed — keep that a blaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. (2 Timothy 1:6-7  The Message Bible)

You cannot dishonor people that God has put into your life and  expect to receive from them. Mark Hankins

You must honor the people that God brings into your life, because they carry something that is vital to you; they carry revelation. You will have to humble yourself to learn and receive these important things. The Apostle Paul knew first hand the value of supernatural relationships. Paul never would have fulfilled the call of God on his life without the assembly in Antioch. All of Paul’s letters were written after he was launched from a corporate assembly. Paul was launched into his apostolic ministry because of a corporate seeking of the Lord.

Jesus is faithful to send the Word to you in a way that you can understand and receive it to help you fulfill the will of God for your life. God will talk to you through supernatural relationships. How you manage those relationships will determine how much revelation will come to you.

Confession: I understand the value of supernatural relationships. I am willing to humble myself and receive from the people God has brought into my life.

PERSPECTIVE AND REVELATION

But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love where with He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. (Ephesians 2:4-6)

I never smoked marijuana and I never took LSD, but the night revelation hit me, I got higher than a kite. Mark Hankins

One Friday night I was sitting with some friends of mine at my dad’s church. We studied Ephesians 2:4-6, and something different happened on this particular Friday night!

Suddenly, the eyes of my understanding were flooded with light! These were not just words and normal mental, intellectual knowledge. Revelation hit me, and I saw with my spirit eyes the light of redemption, the light of the Gospel; I saw that I was made alive with the life of Christ! The same life that God gave to Christ, the very same life that raised Him up out of hell — God gave that same life to me! He quickened me with the same life and then raised me up together with Him. Now I am seated with Christ in heavenly places!

Confession: God has given me the same life that He gave to Christ when He raised Him up out of hell! Now I am seated with Christ in heavenly places! (Ephesians 2:6)

THE EXCEEDING GREATNESS OF HIS POWER

And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. (Ephesians 1:19 NKJV)

The power that raised Christ from the dead made Him supremely triumphant over hell and all its hosts! Mark Hankins

The resurrection of Christ was evidently the greatest display of omnipotence ever set forth, surpassing even that of creation. Paul prayed that we would get a revelation of the power that was released in the resurrection of Christ.

When God raised the body of Jesus, the material substance of His body changed so dramatically that from that time on that Jesus had no difficulty walking through solid walls. Somehow the very structure of the atoms of his body was altered.  This took tremendous power — even more power than God used to create matter in the beginning.

This is what Paul had in mind in his prayer for the Church. Not just the power that was loosed in His body in His triumph over physical death, but also the power that was unleashed spiritually in His triumph over hell and all its forces! That is the power that is at work in us now!

Confession: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.  (Ephesians 3:20)

THE RICHES OF HIS GLORY

And what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.   (Ephesians 1:18)

God intends for you to live in two worlds—to function in this natural world, but also to operate according to His unseen world. Mark Hankins

Growing up as a pastor’s kid, my family did not enjoy a luxurious lifestyle by any means. However, I always sensed that God wanted to make me rich. (Rich means abundantly provided for.) Once I started studying God’s Word, I began to get a glimpse of my redemption in Christ. I found out that I had been redeemed from the curse of the law, (Galatians 3:13) that the blessing of the Lord makes me rich and adds no sorrow with it, (Proverbs 10:22) and that God has made me the head and not the tail. (Deuteronomy 28)

Paul said in Romans8:17 that you are an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. By the spirit of wisdom and revelation, you access the inheritance that is yours through Christ. As a member of the body of Christ, you have an inheritance to claim that is beyond anything you could ever ask, dream, or imagine!

Confession: It is my Father’s good pleasure to give me the kingdom! I am an heir of God and joint heir with Christ! (Luke 12:32, Romans 8:17)

FORGIVENESS BRINGS BLESSING

And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. (Job 42:10)

Life is not always fair, but God is good. Jesse Duplantis

As you study the book of Job in the Old Testament, you will notice that God turned his captivity when he prayed for his friends. Job’s friends were really his critics. God can turn your captivity, too, if you will pray for your critics and ask God to bless them.

In Genesis chapters 37, 39 and 40, we find the story of Joseph. Even in prison, Joseph kept working as unto the Lord, and he never got bitter. God not only brought him out of prison, but He also made him ruler over all of Egypt.

Offense is sure to come, but we have to guard against it. What the devil means for evil, God will turn around for our good when we choose to forgive!

Confession: I will love my enemies and bless those who curse me. I will do good to those that hate me and pray for those who spitefully use and persecute me.(Matthew 5:44) As I pray for my critics, God is turning my captivity just like Job! What the devil meant for evil in my life, God is turning around for my good. I am blessed because I chose to walk in forgiveness!
