Living By Faith

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT

According to your faith be it unto you. (Matthew 9:29)

We need to acknowledge every good thing that is ours in Christ. Mark Hankins

The devil is good at pointing out your flaws. When you are confronted with your imperfections, don’t allow yourself to doubt your authenticity in Christ!

I recently talked with a jeweler who said that all diamonds have a flaw somewhere that can be seen by the trained eye using a magnifying glass.  However, the fake diamonds, cubic zirconium, are flawless. They are man-made. They look like diamonds but they are much cheaper; they have only a fraction of the value of a real diamond.

You are valuable to God. You are a real diamond, not a cubic zirconium! God sees you in Christ. He will keep working with you if you keep a spirit of faith and seek Him with all of your heart. You don’t have to be perfect to have a spirit of faith.

Confession: I have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus! It is God who works in me both to will and to do of His good pleasure! I am valuable to God! (II Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:13)

WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us. (Galatians 3:13)

Boldly confess your redemption in Christ and who you are in Him. Mark Hankins

One of the biggest enemies to faith is a lack of understanding our redemption in Christ. Once you know the truth about redemption you will enjoy the freedom Jesus purchased for you. You must boldly confess your complete redemption in Christ.

A simple definition of redemption is freedom through the payment of a price. God paid the price for you in Christ two thousand years ago. As the old Gospel song reminds us, “Jesus paid it all.” He paid the price for your freedom, deliverance, healing, prosperity, and wholeness! Jesus paid too high a price for you to remain bound! He paid too high a price for your healing for you to stay sick. He paid too high a price for your prosperity for you to remain poor. Jesus purchased your freedom with His own blood! (Hebrews 9:12) Receive all that has been purchased on your behalf!

Confession: I boldly confess my redemption in Christ and who I am in Him. Jesus purchased my freedom from sin, sickness, and lack with His own blood! “Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.” (Hebrews 9:12)

SEE YOURSELF IN CHRIST

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:23-24)

If you keep looking into the Word, it will save, deliver, and heal your soul. Mark Hankins

How do you become a doer of the Word? You look into the mirror of the Word, which James calls “the perfect law of liberty.”  God can tell you over and over what He has done for you in Christ but as long as you continue to see yourself as a failure, unrighteous, unworthy, defeated, sick, or poor, you will stay in that condition. When you look into the perfect law of liberty, there is a reflection and you see yourself in Christ. You see what God has done for you in Christ and suddenly, you see yourself free!

When you get up in the morning, look up about ten “in Christ” scriptures. Then look in the mirror and acknowledge them. When you have a lunch break, open your Bible. If you have a fifteen-minute break, open your Bible. This is what it takes to be blessed.

Look in the mirror–the perfect law of liberty. When you look into the mirror of the Word, it will make you free. One translation says, “Look and keep on looking!”

Confession: I have been given exceeding great and precious promises in God’s Word. I have His divine nature!

THE ENGRAFTED WORD

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. (James 1:21)

The Word doesn’t work unless it is implanted on the inside of you. Mark Hankins

James 1:21 was written to believers. This must mean that after you are born again, your soul still isn’t saved. Your soul is made up of your mind, your will, and your emotions. Even after you are born again, you still have to get your soul saved.

James says to receive the Word with meekness. In other words, humble yourself and be teachable. The engrafted Word has the ability to save, deliver, restore, and make your soul (your mind, will, and emotions) whole.

Why does James call the Word the engrafted Word? The Word will not work for you unless it is implanted on the inside of you. How do you get it implanted? By acknowledging every good thing that is in you in Christ. In other words, you stick with it and keep feeding and meditating on the Word. God already deposited every good thing in you when you were born again, but it is up to you to acknowledge what you have in Christ.

Confession: I lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save my soul!

THE WORKMANSHIP OF GOD

Theoldconditionhaspassedaway; anewconditionhascome. (2 Corinthians 5:17 Williams)

God would not make an unrighteous new creature because He already had an unrighteous old creature! Mark Hankins

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  Verse18 begins, “And all things are of God,” which means this is the work of God.

The old condition from which you have been redeemed is the curse of the law, which includes poverty, sickness, confusion, fear, sin, and the devil’s domination of your life. When does the “old condition” pass away and the “new condition” come? It doesn’t happen over a process of ten or twenty years. It happens the moment you are born again because of the grace of God. The moment you are saved, you become a new creation in Christ.

God would never make an unrighteous new creature! The moment you were born again, you are in Christ, and you are a new creature. Old things are passed away and everything has become new.

Confession: I am the workmanship of God. My old condition is gone and a new condition has come. I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!
