Living By Faith

GOD IS GIVING YOU A CHANGE OF CLOTHES

And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment. (Zechariah 3:4)

God is dressing you in prosperity! Mark Hankins

God said, “I am going to dress you up in some new clothes.”  The Amplified Bible says, “I will clothe you with rich apparel.”  Here are some different kinds of clothes the Bible says to put on:

1. A robe of righteousness of who you are in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21)

2. A garment of praise (Isaiah 61:3)

3.  The power of the Holy Spirit (Luke 24:49)

(Pray in the Holy Spirit until what is on the inside of you gets on the outside of you

4. Your glory clothes (Psalm 8:5)

(Get in the presence of God until you are wearing glory on your countenance.)

5.  Humility (1 Peter 5:5)

Confession: I am wearing a robe of righteousness and a garment of praise! I walk in the power of the Holy Spirit and glory of God. I am clothed with humility. I am dressed in prosperity in Christ!

GET DRESSED UP IN CHRIST

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man… which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind… And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:22-24)

When you get dressed, there is a process you go through. It takes a little time, but it is worth it! Mark Hankins

Do you want your faith to become effective?  The Apostle Paul said in Philemon 6 that the communication of your faith may become effectual or effective by the “acknowledging of every good thing.” It is a continual process to acknowledge every good thing that is in you in Christ Jesus. Your faith will become effective as you continue to acknowledge, think, meditate, declare, and act as if the Bible is true.  This process is called “putting on the new man” in Colossians 3:9-10 and Ephesians 4:23-24.

We are talking about putting on some new clothes. You are renewed in knowledge after the image of Him who created you. God likes to dress people up, and He will tell you how to get dressed up. Put on some new clothes with your identification with Christ and who you are in Christ.

Confession: I am who God says I am! I have what God says I have! I can do what God says I can do!

CHANGE CLOTHES DAILY

And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him. (Colossians 3:10)

Acting on the Word is the simplest definition of faith. Mark Hankins

Changing clothes is not something you do once in your lifetime. You do not say, “I changed clothes twenty years ago.” No, this is a daily thing. You did not get up this morning and say, “If God wanted me to wear clothes, He would have put them on me.” That is ridiculous, isn’t it? You cannot say, “If it is the will of God, I would have clothes on today.” No, you had to get up, pick them out, and put them on.

Often people say, “If it were the will of God for me to be healed, I would be healed because God wanted it.” No, did your clothes jump on you? In other words, healing is a part of your redemption, but you need to put it on.

Some people say, “If it is the will of God for me to have money, then I would have it.” No, God did not put your clothes on you; you put them on. Likewise, you have to “put on” prosperity.  That is what belongs to you in Christ. You have to dress yourself up by acknowledging who you are in Christ.

Confession: That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. (Philemon 6)

PUT ON THE NEW MAN

And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.  (Ephesians 4:23-24)

In order to put on the new man, you have to change clothes. Mark Hankins

In Ephesians 4:23-24, Paul was not talking about natural clothes, but he was talking about putting on something supernaturally. The new man is in you, but the outward man needs to make some wardrobe adjustments.

To change your clothes means to change your lifestyle, change the way you think, change your direction, change who you are hanging out with, change what you are watching on television, and change the kind of books you are reading.

How are you going to do that?  “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.” (Romans 13:14) When you expose yourself to situations that can cause you to fall, you need to watch your flesh. Although you are saved, you still occupy a body. You will get a new body when you get to Heaven, but right now you still have to deal with your flesh.

Confession: I am renewed in the spirit of my mind. I put on the new man, which after God is created in righteous- ness and true holiness. (Ephesians 4:23-24)

A BRAND NEW PERSON

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

You are not just a forgiven sinner; you are a brand-new person! Mark Hankins

“Therefore if any man” means this will work for anyone. Notice what Paul wrote: “Therefore if any man be in Christ.” It does not say, “if any man be in church.” You can be in church and be the same old stinkin’ thing you have always been, but when you get “in Christ,” you cannot stay the same. You are changed.

When Paul wrote, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is,” Paul was not talking about males only; he was talking about mankind–man or woman. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he [or she] is a new creature.” One translation says it this way, “a new species of being that never existed before.” When you get born again, you are not just a forgiven sinner. You have been re-created.

In the Old Testament, sins were only covered and forgiven. But because of the death and resurrection of Christ, you have not simply been forgiven; you have become a whole new person–a whole new creation. You are not just a forgiven sinner. You are a brand new person. God has re-created you!

Confession: I am in Christ therefore I am a brand new person. I am not simply forgiven; I am a whole new creation in Christ!
