Living By Faith

THE SAME STUFF

I consider myself as having died and now enjoying a second existence, which is simply Jesus using my body. (Galatians 2:20  Distilled Bible)

You have an identical condition with Christ; He took your place in His death. Mark Hankins

Paul understood that Christ lives in you and me. What does this mean? It means you have the same righteousness, the same life, the same power, the same triumph, the same spirit, the same stuff, and the same blessing Christ has. You are an heir of God and a joint-heir with Christ. You are joined to Him. Your spirit is joined to Christ. This makes it difficult to be defeated, doesn’t it? Paul understood that Christ lives in you and me.

Jesus was made to be sin for us on the cross. He took our sin. He died our death, and He took our place. When you see the cross, you see man’s condition in Adam, which is man’s condition outside of God. Man is a sinner separated from God. Jesus died the death of the sinner; He was treated the same as a sinner would be in the sight of God.

He took the same condition you had, so when He was raised from the dead, you could have that identical condition. He took your place in His death, thereby giving you the same life He has in His resurrection.

Confession: I have the same righteousness, the same life, the same power, the same triumph, the same spirit, the same stuff, and the same blessing Christ has!

HE GAVE US THE SAME LIFE

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins… Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ. (Ephesians 2:1,5)

The same spirit of faith, the same life, the same Holy Spirit, and the same power that quickened Christ also quickens us. Mark Hankins

God has quickened us with Christ. What does the word, “quickened,” mean? The word “quicken” means He made us alive together with Christ.

The Gospel is not the good news that God wants to help you; it is the good news that God has already helped you! God gave us the very life of Christ Himself: the same new life with which He quickened Him. Whatever that life did in Christ, it does in you.

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 4:13, “We having the same spirit of faith.”  The same spirit of faith, the same life, the same Holy Spirit, and the same power that quickened Christ also quickens us. When you discover that you have the same life in you that is in Jesus, the devil becomes very afraid of you! You really cannot be defeated in life when you understand the same, identical life that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you!

Confession: The same life, the same spirit, and the same power that quickened Christ dwells in me!

MADE ALIVE WITH CHRIST

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places… (Ephesians 1:20)

Everything God did in Christ, He did for you, and it is credited to your account as if you did it. Mark Hankins

What really happened 2,000 years ago in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ?  What was God working out when He raised Christ from the dead? What was wrought in Christ? “Which he wrought,” means what He worked, what happened, or what God did in Christ when He raised Him from the dead.  Here’s what He wrought: He “hath put all things under his feet.” (Ephesians 1:22)

In the original Greek, there are no chapter divisions in Paul’s letters. The King James Version translators made chapter divisions for ease in writing and reading the Bible. There is no stopping place in Paul’s letters. Actually, he says, “Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all. And you…” (Ephesians 1:23;2:1) You need to underline “and you.”  What God wrought in Christ was for you.

Are you finding yourself in Christ?  What God did in Christ, He did for you!

Confession: Everything God did in Christ, He did for me, and it is credited to my account as if I did it!

LIVING IN THIS NEW PLACE

I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.(Exodus 17:14)

You can live and pray from your new place of identification with Christ.  Mark Hankins

God is going to take care of you so well that you will not even remember your past.  The old person you used to be is dead and gone. You are seated with Him right now in heavenly places. That is a place of authority. You cannot get any higher than that! You can live and pray from your new place of identification with Christ.

God will give you answers in every area of your life. Anything you need help for–your marriage, prosperity, or healing–is in your identification with Christ.

It is like the Arc of Triumph in Paris, France. The streets of Paris go out like spokes on a wheel from the Arc of Triumph, which is the center of the city. You can get anywhere downtown Paris from the Arc of Triumph.

The same is true about Christianity. The center of the Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. You can get anywhere you need to go from there when you see your identification with Christ!

Confession: I am seated with Christ in heavenly places. I can live and pray from my new place of identification with Christ!

HE DEALT WITH THE ROOT

Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you today; for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. (Exodus 14:13)

If you allow the memory of your past to continue, it is just as bad as if those things were still there. Mark Hankins

It was hard for Moses and the children of Israel to believe God would destroy their enemies because it was a radical change.  They had been under bondage 400 years, but God said, “Today I will stop it, and you will never see your enemies again!”

God said that He would destroy your past. Old things have been dealt with through the power of the Gospel and the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. You have a brand-new identity in Christ! The power of the Gospel will cause the enemies that have hounded you and dominated you for years to never dominate your life again.

You have to declare who you are in Christ, and suddenly, the death and resurrection of Christ will become a reality and swallow everything that has tried to hold you in bondage!

Confession: I am a new creature in Christ. Old things are passed away. My past is forgotten. God is doing a brand-new thing in my life! (2 Corinthians 5:17)
