WINNING THE WAR OF WORDS

In solemn truth I tell you that if anyone shall say to this mountain,“Remove, and hurl thyself into the sea,”and has no doubt about it in his heart, but stead fastly believes that what he says will happen, it shall be granted him. (Mark 11:23  Weymouth Translation)

Jesus defeated Satan in the wilderness by speaking the Word of God (Matthew4).  Satan said…Jesus said… Satan said…Jesus said…Satan said…Jesus said. The Lord Jesus Christ won the war of words and put the devil on the run. Even Jesus had to “say” three times before the devil left. The power of speaking the Word of God was evident in this example from Jesus’ life and it is necessary for you to win the fight of faith.

Jesus tells us clearly how faith works in Mark 11:23. Faith is released by speaking.  If you are silent, you will lose by default. You must win the war of words in order to win in every conflict.

A war of words is going on every day of your life. How you fight that war will determine whether you win or lose; it will determine whether you live in the blessing or the curse. It could even determine whether you live or die. God has supplied the ammunition to win- His Word! It has the power to win in every area.  There is life, healing, joy, victory, and blessing in the Word of God!

Confession: I have a spirit of faith. I believe therefore I speak. (2 Corinthians 4:13) I will win the war of words and experience the blessing of God in my life!

NEVER RUN AT YOUR GIANT WITH YOUR MOUTH SHUT

This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand… that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. (1 Samuel 17:46)

1 Samuel 17 records the classic story of David and Goliath. The real battle was won before David actually killed Goliath. A war of words had to be won before victory could be consummated. The story went something like this: Goliath said…David said…Goliath said…David said…David ran toward the Philistine…David prevailed over the Philistine. David won the war of words before He won the victory!

The Lord spoke these words to me as a key to killing my giants: “Never run at your giant with your mouth shut!” Before we can receive and do all that God has for us in life, there will be giants that must be conquered. As you may know, some of these giants can be quite persistent. Just keep on running at those giants with your mouth speaking the Word of God. The Word releases God’s power to win in every conflict!

Confession: And He hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me. (Isaiah 49:2)

FAITH WORKS BY LOVE

For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Galatians 5:6)

Your faith will not work properly if you are not walking in love! Mark Hankins

If your mountain keeps standing in the same old place, you’re not receiving what you’ve been praying for, and your faith is not working, the first thing you need to do is check your love walk.

What does it take to deal with offense or unforgiveness? It’s as simple as making a choice. When another person is involved and knows about the problem, you need to say, “Please forgive me.”  However, if the other person doesn’t know about the problem — if it’s something you did or something you’ve been holding against an individual — there’s no reason to get him or her involved, because you’ll stir up more devils than you can cast out! Just forgive that person and be friendly again. Get rid of that grudge!

The problem is not with God. Check your love walk. Evaluate the way you’re talking, acting and conducting your relationships. Walk in love, because faith works by love.

Confession: My mountain will move when I choose to walk in love in the way I talk, act, and conduct my relationships. I will walk in love because faith works by love!

PIONEERS IN THE GOSPEL

Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:18-19)

It takes faith to forsake, follow, and forget!

The spirit of faith is not afraid to leave things behind. It can be difficult to lay aside treasured items and traditional ways of thinking, but the rewards of obeying God should keep you moving forward. 

Hebrews 11:27 says that by faith, Moses forsook Egypt. Abraham forsook Ur of the Chaldees to go to Canaan. (Genesis 11:31-12:9) Peter, James, and John forsook their boats and followed Jesus. (Mark 1:17-18)

God is always looking for pioneers — people who will not settle for less than God’s best. The spirit of faith will keep them moving, and those pioneers will keep expecting miracles.

Confession:I will forget those things which are behind, and reach forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus! (Philippians 3:13-14)

BREAKING BARRIERS

For You will light my lamp; The Lord my God will enlighten my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, By my God I can leap over a wall. (Psalm 18:28-29 NKJV)

You will need to break some barriers when you go from glory to glory and from faith to faith. You will experience many breakthroughs as you overcome the enemy and fulfill the will of God, but in order to do so you will have be sure that your candle is lit.

I have been to the First Flat-Faced Church. That is where people have tried to leap over the wall but didn’t make it. They hit the wall. They got their flat faces because they tried to leap over the wall before they got their candles lit.

David knew what it was like to face challenges, but he was always confident that the Lord was with him. He wrote in Psalm 23:4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. David allowed God to light his candle, and that is key to making it through life’s darkest valleys.

Confession: The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? (Psalm 27:1)
