Living By Faith

THE PERFECT LANGUAGE

Whosoever shall say…he shall have whatsoever he saith. (Mark 11:23)

Effective communication must involve both seeing and saying. Mark Hankins

Human speech is a characteristic of man made in the image of God. We can see from Genesis1 that God said and God saw. Sound came before sight in the order of this world’s creation. God said and God saw. Everything we can see was made from sound. Sound changes sight. Faith has a certain sound. As we speak the word of faith, things change in our lives.

In the beginning, a language existed that perfectly expressed the essence of all possible things. The language spoken in the Garden of Eden must have been such a language. Today, in the language of the Gospel, there is even greater power available. God has redeemed us by the blood of Jesus and has given us the language of redemption in Christ Jesus. God has restored all power to us “in Christ.” It is a language of authority that will move mountains as Jesus said in Mark 11:23. It is a language of healing that Paul spoke in Acts 14:7-10. It is a language of love that Paul described in 1 Corinthians 13.  It is the perfect language.

Confession: I am making a different sound–the sound of faith. The scenery of my life is changing because I walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him… (Ephesians 1:17)

I want to know how God created this world… I want to know His thoughts; the rest are details. Albert Einstein

On October 14, 1947, Captain Charles E. “Chuck” Yeager became the first person to fly faster than the speed of sound. With this historic flight, Yeager ushered in the beginning of America’s launch into outer space and NASA’s modern space shuttle program.

Breaking the sound barrier also broke the fear of the unknown. Yeager later described his supersonic flight as “A poke through jell-o,” “Sipping lemonade on the front porch,” and “A perfectly paved speedway.” The real barrier was not in the sky; it was in man’s lack of knowledge regarding supersonic flight.

Christians often face challenges and barriers in doing God’s will. Even the most difficult barriers can be broken, and believers can go to places in God they have never been. The Apostle Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1 contains the necessary ingredients for every Christian to breakthrough any barriers they face. Paul called this necessary ingredient the “spirit of wisdom and revelation.”

Confession: I have the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ!

A GREAT BEDTIME STORY

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in ONCE into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. (Hebrews 9:12)

Jesus canceled and abolished sin ONCE for all time for all men.
Mark Hankins

ONCE! That’s all it took! What Jesus did for us in His death and resurrection, He only had to do ONCE! ONCE He shed His blood. ONCE He paid the price for our freedom. ONCE He put away and abolished sin. ONCE He dethroned and defeated Satan. ONCE for all time! ONCE for all mankind! ONCE for the cure of every condition! He only had to die ONCE so that every blessing in heaven could be ours.

Whenever you face any challenge, remember this story and tell it again, “ONCE UPON A TIME!” Jesus defeated Satan so badly He only had to do it ONCE!
When Satan comes against you, just bring up this story and say, “ONCE upon a time…” and the devil will leave. Now, we as believers can take the Word of God and tell the devil a bedtime story. Say, “Devil, ONCE upon a time Jesus defeated you for all eternity.” Speak the Word of God with boldness and rock the devil to sleep!

Confession: But as now is, He has ONCE for all at the consummation and close of the ages appeared to put away and abolish sin by His sacrifice [of Himself]. (Hebrews 9:26 AMP)

SEE THE UNSEEN

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:18)

God wants to open a different set of eyes so you can see the unseen.
Mark Hankins

Prophets were called seers in the Old Testament because they saw things in the supernatural. In 2 Kings 6, Elisha was seeing and knew what the enemy was going to do before they ever went to battle.

One morning, Elisha’s servant woke up and realized the mountains were filled with enemy soldiers that wanted to kill Elisha. The servant, full of fear, ran in to wake up Elisha. He said, “We’re gonna die today! They’re gonna kill us! Wake up! Get up! We’re gonna die!” Elisha said to his servant, “Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

The prophet then prayed for his servant, “Lord, I pray for you to open his eyes that he may see.” The servant then saw what Elisha saw. God had sent angels and chariots of fire that surrounded Elisha and surrounded the army. There was no reason to be afraid!

Confession: My eyes are open to the supernatural. I do not look at the things that are seen which are temporary, but at the things which are not seen which are eternal!

FOCUSED AND CLEAR

Your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for Christians… (Ephesians 1:18 The Message Bible)

We can rise above the turbulent atmosphere of our past experiences.
Mark Hankins

NASA launched the Hubble telescope in 1990 and it revolutionized the study of our universe! Many mysteries of our universe have been revealed by the Hubble’s discoveries. However, with everything that we are coming to understand about the universe, there is still so much more to be discovered.

In Ephesians 1, the Apostle Paul described the spirit of wisdom and revelation as the “eyes of your understanding being enlightened.” The spirit of wisdom and revelation makes it possible for us to see the mystery or unseen realities of our redemption.

In Christ we have been launched into heavenly places to be able to clearly see God’s plans and purposes. When the spirit of wisdom launches us into orbit for a closer view or clearer picture, we can then see what God sees!

Confession: My eyes are focused and clear. I can see exactly what God is calling me to do. I am grasping the immensity of this glorious way of life He has for Christians! (Ephesians 1:18 The Message Bible)
